On 24 and 25 January 2017 the CRIMARIO project has conducted an internship for the Navy and Coast Guard of Djibouti as part of the preparation of the regional exercice Cutlass Express 2017 (Indian Ocean).
Gathered at the Djibouti Navy headquarters, 16 Navy staff and coast-guards have increased their knowledge on commercial vessels and on maritime information search and sharing at regional level.
This session comes at a time when the regional agreement called the “Djibouti Code of Conduct“, signed in 2009 and which provided a framework for the exchange of information between countries initially restricted to piracy, is today extended to many other crimes by the so-called “Jeddah Amendment” signed on 12 January 2017.
