During two days (30 November – 1 December 2016), CRIMARIO facilitated a workshop dedicated to interagency cooperation in the Comoros maritime domain. The high level participants (Maritime Affairs, Coast Guard, Civil Security, Port authorities and shipping companies, Police, Fisheries) shared their views and benefited from the experiences of neighbor countries such as Seychelles and Madagascar, presents at this meeting. Those two countries set up coordination mechanisms for disaster management (DRDM in Seychelles) or data sharing and analysis (RMIFC in Madagascar). European best practices were introduced: information sharing platform set up by MSCHOA/EUNAVFOR, police cooperation or role of SG Mer in France.
During working groups, the participants have drawn up a diagnosis and drafted the milestones of an action plan for enhancing the interagency coordination in Comoros.
Mr Wahadi Madi, State Secretary in charge of Transports has official closed this workshop, stressing out the importance of this work and the personal commitment of the participants.
